The Mad Dough Bakehouse needed a brand to support their handmade, unique flavored, luxury cookies. Its letterforms are handmade and echo the quality of Mad Dough cookies. The use of colors in the logo reinforces the luxury and approachability of the Mad Dough brand. Handmade, retro-modern, cutout letterforms in “Mad Dough” paired with the refined and clean letterforms used in “Bakehouse” speak to the brand's elegance and playfulness. Beyond the lettermark, I wanted to provide Mad Dough with a mascot to solidify the brand recognition and work to increase brand engagement. Maddie the Mad Cookie does just that. She is BOLD, but cute too - just like the Mad Dough cookie flavors!

Mad Dough is a “deliciously decadent, completely handmade, better-than-grandma’s cookie bakery out of Orange County, CA." Mad Dough boasts a “weekly restocked menu of ‘I actually would die for this’ kind of cookie flavors, and a monthly rotating menu of 1/2 lb stuffed cookies.” In a saturated market of stuffed cookie companies, Mad Dough gets a little “MAD” with their flavors, the highest quality ingredients, baked in small batches, and offered in multiple shapes and sizes.
