“LET’S TALK FOOTBALL” EVENT branding + presentation DESIGN
Lead Designer, Art Direction, Animation, Illustration, Presentation Design // Illustrator, AfterEffects, Photoshop, PowerPoint
Taylor (WIN For KC) and Amanda (Gold Griff Athlete Agency) approached our team with the vision for content to support their “Let’s Talk Football” event. The women and girls attending this event would leave feeling empowered to not only be a part of the football conversation, but lead it! They needed interactive and educational content for a slideshow that would break down the basics (not including the new dynamic kickoff…) of professional American football. The creative collateral would simulate the basic plays that occur in a football game, but allow the presenter to pause the content, scrub through the plays and schemes, and pause or stop the content to answer questions in real-time. The final deliverables: a customizable PowerPoint template, 2D-animated videos of the basic football plays, and simplified animated player positions.
SUPPORTING EMBELLISHMENTS
FONTS & COLOR PALETTE
I led this initiative using my background and knowledge of the game of football while still understanding how complex and convoluted it can be from the outside looking in. My direction was to create simplistic, approachable, and fun graphics that were feminine enough to appeal to our audience, but not stereotypical or cliche.
POWERPOINT TEMPLATE
Dynamic and eye-catching PowerPoint template, easily customized by our clients with any changes leading up to the day of the event.
ANIMATIONS
I created the animations for each respective position, in a distilled GIF style to highlight the key movements the viewers might see when watching a televised football game.

Storyboards
Due to the extensive amount of artwork needed, I crafted storyboard mock-ups of each animated play to guide our animations internally and to receive pre-approval from the client along the way. In each scene within the storyboard, I depicted the play using the art I created and described the movement and play of the game taking place.
FOOTBALL BASIC PLAYS ANIMATIONS
Inspired by the old-school hand-held football game and the standard X’s and O’s used in drawn-up football plays, I wanted to keep the visuals high contrast and simple. We give the audience a bird’s eye view of the game maintaining their ability to easily follow who is involved in the play and where they are located on the field. I wanted to use the circle “pop-ups” to further reinforce the highlights of each play and showcase how the ball was moving during the play of game. Again, the animations are simple and easy to follow, but the popups bring a level of detail, so we can see exactly what is going on at any given moment within the play without the complexity of what is going on elsewhere on the field.
“Pop-ups” for highlight the details and movements within each play.
